If you are concerned that your horse may be suffering from gastric ulcers, Dr. Grossman is able to travel to your barn and take a look inside of your horse's stomach using a video camera. This procedure is called a gastroscopy. It is the only way we can diagnose gastric ulcers and is an important diagnostic tool in equine medicine. Many horses suffer from gastric ulcers. Common signs of gastric ulcers include colic, decreased appetite, girthiness, weight loss, behavioral changes, performance issues, and more. Treating gastric ulcers is expensive, which is why obtaining a diagnosis is valuable prior to treating. Most medical insurance companies will cover the cost of diagnosing and treating gastric ulcers.

Dr. Grossman also offers upper airway endoscopy to assess certain breathing and performance concerns.
