With a specialized dental endoscope, Dr. Grossman is able to utilize a camera during dental exams in order to get the most thorough evaluation of even the hardest to reach teeth. Dental exams should be performed at least annually. Many people are under the false assumption that their horse doesn't need a dental exam unless he or she is dropping feed or losing weight. Oftentimes, by that point, it's too late to prevent major dental and periodontal disease, the damage is already done. That is why annual dental exams and floats are important to help maintain the balance of the mouth, decrease painful sharp edges, and check for signs of periodontal disease, infection, fractured/loose teeth, and imbalances before they are allowed to advance and cause more issues.
Besides regular exams and floats, Dr. Grossman also treats periodontal disease and performs simple extractions.
